Our flags are flying at half-mast, today.

It’s been a heavy week.

As a Nation, we experienced a violent, unspeakable event. One that will be remembered for years to come.

As a local media publication, we felt the need to acknowledge that, the freedoms that we enjoy in the United States, Texas, and Collin County depend on the ability to respect and honor each other, even when we disagree.

One of the unique aspects of our Country has been our historical ability to express ourselves, our opinions, and our passions with each other.

Even within Collin County, there are many differences of opinions, backgrounds, cultures, and worldviews. 

If we choose to see this as a beautiful thing, we can continue to experience a vibrant life, together.

We won’t always agree. However, we have an opportunity to listen, to speak, to discuss, to debate, and to form our own opinions on things that matter.

Let us not be afraid to speak, and to stand-up for what we believe. 

We are praying for peace for our Nation. 

May we experience a renewed sense of gratitude for the freedoms we have, and a renewed sense of respect, for our fellow citizens.
